World Street Food Festival - 1st - 5th June 2012
Street food is going through a revolution as the greasy sausage merchants of yesterday are replaced by vendors of affordable, fresh, well sourced and truly exciting food...
The quality and interest in street food continues to climb, and in London you can find some of the best expressions of this new generation of authentic, quality-driven vendors around while the dodgy, greasy sausage merchants of yesterday are left flagging in the slow lane. We brought together the very best street food vendors to the Southbank last year for the first Real Street Food Festival during the Royal Wedding, creating a street party with food fit for a future king. We thought it was only fair to come back bigger and more mouth-watering than before with food fit for a Queen too for the Jubilee weekend this June. With the Olympics round the corner it also seemed a good time to celebrate the amazing flavours of street-food cultures from around the world so from the 1st-5th June we bring you the World Street Food Festival. For list of confirmed traders so far follow this link.
Coinciding with the launch of Southbank's 'Festival of the World', the World Street Food Festival will bring together some of the greatest street food around to London. With the finest ingredients sourced from the UK but with the influence and traditions of ethnic and international recipes, you will be able to eat the world during a wonderful exciting weekend on the banks of the River Thames.
THE EVENT IS ALSO FREE TO ATTEND
