Jayne and Michael Duveen have been at the forefront of organic farming for many years and recently took over Hophurst Farm, an isolated and untouched farm once owned by dairy farmers in East Sussex and converted it to biodynamic principles. With a modest herd of Sussex Red cows and Romney Marsh sheep they set up a traditional butchery in June 2010 and in an effort to find a way to trade viably in London formed a cooperative with similarly minded farmers around Sussex and Kent.
Jacob’s Ladder Farms is now a successful collective of small, artisan food producers and farms who share a common interest in natural and sustainable farming practices and in the production of interesting and uncomplicated local food. Working together in association means that they can join forces, collaborating and trading under one banner.
Other members of their farm collective include: Perry Court Farm; Montague Farm; Ladymeads Farm; Hungary Lane Farm; Hophurst Farm; Coopers Farm and Brockwell Bake Association
Come find them on the market for their amazing organic and bio-dynamic meat, cheese, eggs and bread as well as their beef burgers, which are fast gaining legendary status!
