It'll take more than just Jamie to save our bacon - 27/1/09

In The Guardian today, Policy Manager at the Soil Association Joanna Lewis links Jamie Oliver's school dinner campaign and his upcoming pig welfare campaign. She highlights the fact that 'Catering is the blind spot in the ethical consumer revolution... and for most schools and hospital caterers, the freedom food-certified and outdoor-reared pork that Jamie is calling for is considered a luxury.' But, 'it's not all bad news', she says, 'The Soil Association's Food for Life Catering Mark is helping more progressive caterers to save our bacon.'
