The Launch

A couple of months ago we launched the first weekly edition of Real Food Festival at Borough Market. We saw 14 great producers turn up to sample and sell their glorious food and drink, Petal the water buffalo was a huge hit and our chefs Oliver Rowe, Jun Tanaka and Cyrus Todiwala showed a delighted crowd what to do with these wonderful ingredients. Cyrus even got to talk about it on Saturday Kitchen!

What it's all about

Every Thursday, 14 Real Food Festival producers will come to London bringing Borough Market’s shoppers and the local community even more choice and the opportunity to buy great quality, fresh produce and ingredients at affordable prices, direct from the producer. The Real Food Festival will also be working with the Soil Association to bring a selection of the Festival’s organic producers to take part and we are delighted that, with Borough Market’s help, we are able to support our Real Food producers to find a new channel to sell their wonderful products.

The link between the Real Food Festival and Borough Market is a natural one – the Real Food Festival showcases wonderful, seasonal, food & drink produced sustainably and ethically from all around the UK and is synonymous with the ethos and beliefs of Borough Market

The Real Food Festival - 7-10th May, provides an annual platform to showcase smaller producers by offering subsidised stands at its show at Earl’s Court and in line with the shows philosophy, Real Food Festival stalls at Borough Market are also subsidised.

Philip Lowery, founder of the Real Food Festival said “I’m really pleased that, working with Borough Market and the Soil Association, we can offer another great way for our producers to connect directly with the public to sell their great products and to encourage a greater connection with where our food comes from. We are looking forward to developing a really thriving market for Borough shoppers and the local community to offer more seasonal and sustainably produced food from around the UK”
